Weekend in Chicago

This past weekend we visited Chicago for our dear friends' (Brittney and Brad...pics. under another post) wedding; we decided to enjoy Chicago while we were there...we don't get there often enough. Thursday night we stayed in Indiana and then we drove into Chicago Friday morning. Our first stop was the Cubs game (v. the Houston Astros...and, of course, they won!!!!). Bick said this was the "highlight of his summer", aside from his sister's wedding and Brittney and Brad's wedding...boy, does he know how to cover his tracks. We had a great time at Wrigley Field and we're looking forward to attending our next game with the McDermotts! (pic. - Bickley posing with the Harry Carey statue outside of the stadium)

We had nice seats, just along the first baseline, right before the bleacher seats...about 5-6 rows back. The weather was perfect for a baseball game...sunny and not too hot.
(The sign in this picture says "IT'S GONNA HAPPEN!")

After the Cubs game we headed back to the hotel to shower and freshen up for dinner and Wicked. I have to say, this Broadway show definitely ranks up there at the top! (An FYI for you....#1 Mamma Mia!, #2 Wicked, #3 Beauty and the Beast, #4 Annie, #5 Rent. I could go on, but I'll save you all.)

Anyway, the show was fabulous! For those of you that haven't seen it yet, it's a definite "MUST SEE!"
It answers all the questions and fills in all the background information on the Wizard of Oz that you didn't even realize you didn't know. Have you read the book, Jeff? I think the background info. is definitely up your alley.

Saturday we hung out at the hotel until it was time to leave for Brittney and Brad's wedding...check out pics from their amazing day!
